Position Details

POSITION SUMMARY

Principal Project Manager, Private Partnerships

A rewarding and challenging opportunity exists within the Private Partnerships Unit, Housing Division of Homes Victoria for a highly experienced Principal Project Manager.

The role will have program oversight responsibility for delivering a key aspect of the Big Housing Build of substantially increasing social and affordable housing in Victoria with a focus on working with the private sector property market to achieve this with a significant number of properties to be identified and procured at various stages of development from complete spot purchases to a pipeline of in development dwellings in a short timeframe.

The Principal Project Manager will oversee and manage a range of activities including developing, managing and executing large procurement strategies to work with the private sector to identify and procure a range of properties to add to the housing portfolio. The role will brief, procure and manage some multi-disciplinary consultancies involved in urban planning, design, documentation and project delivery. The role includes leadership and management of public and internal procurement and transaction processes, budget and cash flow management, reporting, and risk and issues management. It will also have a major emphasis on process and management of the end to end property acquisition process.

Are you:

  • Experienced in delivering and programming multifaceted fast-track projects especially focused on property sourcing, purchasing and transaction management
  • Experienced in delivering highly complex, large scale projects with multiple consultancies and stakeholders with probity and rigour embedded
  • Able to manage and oversee all aspects of a large-scale purchasing program
  • Efficient in providing leadership, guidance and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in complex reporting, briefing and approvals processes
  • An experienced leader that will help lead, manage and contribute to a high performing team
