About us

The Grampians Region provides services at Justice Service Centres in Ballarat and Horsham and at two prisons, the medium security Hopkins Correctional Centre and minimum security HM Prison Langi Kal Kal.

About the role

An opportunity now exists at Hopkins Correctional Centre in Ararat within our business support team for individuals with a passion for working in a dynamic, customer focused environment. This role is the first point of contact for both internal and external clients.

Reporting to the Justice Officer Team Leader, the Justice Officer is responsible for providing administrative, record keeping and general support solutions to a wide range of operational areas. Some of your main duties include:

  • providing information and assistance to clients, internal and external stakeholders and the public, including the collation, review and processing of applications
  • performing a range of financial duties including accounts payable and receivable, petty cash and banking
  • coordinating and providing administrative support for a range of events and meetings.

Please note there are two (2) positions available. One Ongoing, Full Time and one Casual.

The Casual role is paid an hourly rate of $26.47. Your days and hours may fluctuate, but will typically fall between the hours of 8:00am and 4:06pm, Monday to Friday.

As the successful candidate, you will possess a proven track record in providing superior customer service, good attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
