  • VPS Grade 3: $76,817 - $93,275 plus superannuation

About the Business Unit:

Marngoneet Correctional Centre and Karreenga Annex is a medium security facility that houses a mix of sentenced and remand men and is located 6km north-west of Lara, 20km from the centre of Geelong and about 70km from Melbourne.  The role of the facility is to contain men in custody safely, securely and humanely, focusing on the individual needs of the men with the aim of providing a successful transition back into the community or on their continued journey through the prison system. 

About the Role:

Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Remand Program Facilitator role is primarily responsible for the coordination and facilitation of the suite of Remand Programs. This role will be responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and facilitating the suite of Remand Programs. 

Some of your other duties will include:

  • Undertaking prisoner risk assessments and needs assessments, coordinate prisoner's applications for parole and contribute to the Case Management Review process.
  • Monitoring and reporting on key performance and quality indicators as directed.
  • Consulting and liaising with prison staff, Offender Service staff and OBP staff in relation to program delivery requirements.

About You:

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Experience in and/or understanding of working within a correctional environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision, as part of a multi-disciplinary team. 
  • Computer program skills, such as, excel for data management.

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in programs and service delivery/coordination within a correctional environment is highly desirable.
  • TAE - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is highly desirable.
