About us

The Loddon Mallee Region (LMR) provides services at Justice Service Centres in Bendigo, Swan Hill and Mildura at outreach locations across the region including Castlemaine, Echuca, Maryborough, Kerang, Robinvale, Kyneton and Ouyen. The region has three prisons, two within Loddon Prison Precinct, which includes a medium risk facility (Loddon) and restricted minimum facility (Middleton). The third prison is located at Maldon, a minimum risk women's facility, Tarrengower prison.

About the role

As the Staff Training Coordinator you will be responsible for providing a range of training and training coordination activities to Loddon Prison, Middleton and Tarrengower staff. The position involves the collation and management of staff training records from both a staff development and from a compliance perspective. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • identifying, planning and coordinating training requirements to ensure mandatory qualifications are maintained in accordance with operational requirements
  • working with staff to identify learning opportunities that meet individual and organisational needs as part of the staff member's Performance Plan
  • assisting the Workforce Development Supervisor in ensuring that Performance Plans are completed and assessed within specified timelines
  • coordinating and delivering training and induction programs.

Please note this role works on a roster arrangement comprising of 9 equal shifts over an 80 hour fortnight.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • completed the prison officer pre-service training
  • demonstrated knowledge and experience of competency-based training and assessment, including the ability to plan, manage and implement training solutions.
  • experience in the design and implementation of a variety of competency based training programs.
