Position Details

The Victorian Building Authority (VBA) is seeking a technical expert to influence, develop and implement the Safety Assurance Program and other key policies and guidelines.  

The Senior Technical Advisor will be responsible for providing and preparation of technical advice, reports and correspondence, as well as providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

The role is incredibly dynamic and varied, from providing authoritative advice, conducting site inspections to shaping the Safety Assurance Program.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, mentoring and training to junior team members.
  • Prepare and draft building notices and orders.
  • Develop and maintain key internal and external relationships to ensure that high quality, reliable and useful survey reports and correspondence are consistently produced by the team.

 

Skills and experience

To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate:

  • demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience in the building control system, regulatory framework, current codes, legislation, regulations and standards in Victoria and/or other Australian jurisdictions; and
  • excellent written communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate reports, briefing memoranda and recommendations on complex issues.

 

Salary Details

A base salary in the Grade 6.1 range of $120,692 to $141,102 per annum plus 9.5% super.
