Position Details

The new Ambulance Victoria (AV) operational structure aims to improve the health of our community by delivering innovative, high quality ambulance services and providing exceptional clinical care.  The changes to be implemented will place us in the strongest position to meet current and future community demand, while supporting your development, health, wellbeing, and safety.

Our Operational Logistics Department is seeking to recruit three (3) Area Team Leaders to manage the dedicated Rostering hub and function, ensuring operational staff rosters are developed in an effective and timely manner that supports service levels of a 24/7 emergency operation.  Availability outside of ordinary working hours to provide advice, support or authoritative direction to staff or managers involved in dealing with emergency or time critical incidents or issues, will be crucial. The roles will also develop and recommend operational resourcing strategies to meet and accommodate changing workforce needs and requirements. All 3 Team Leader positions are permanent, full time roles based at our Brady Street, South Melbourne location. 

About the role

Reporting to and working closely with the Manager, Rostering these positions are also responsible for providing specialist information and advice relating rostering, to managers to assist in meeting planning and resource requirements.   The main duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring staff within the Rostering hub accurately update and maintain data in the rostering software system to ensure timely staff rostering and availability
  • Working with Regional Management teams to draft and finalise operational rosters according to approved AV policies and procedures to ensure operational resource requirements are met
  • Reviewing and analysing performance trends and the effectiveness to ensure they are the optimum plans for AV to operate effectively
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with the Payroll Systems team, operational regions and corporate managers
  • Ensuring compliance to safe practices, policies, procedures and an understanding of rostering and timecard systems to support data integrity and accuracy
  • Providing coaching, staff development through performance development plans and creating positive working environments

About you

You will have a tertiary qualification in health, logistics, business, or like experience in a related discipline together with a diverse business background in a complex service delivery organisation or logistics environment, preferably within the public sector, Health or Emergency Services field.

You will be experienced in applying Award provisions as they relate to rostering and relevant Enterprise Agreements, and in developing and implementing business improvements. Your well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills enable you to efficiently identify and resolve issues and your demonstrated excellent interpersonal and influencing skills will assist you to motivate and influence others.  Finally, you will have highly proficient skills and experience in the use of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook. 

The successful candidate must have a current Victorian Driver's Licence, be willing to travel throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria when required, and undertake a National Police check.
