Position Details

This is an exciting opportunity to join Ambulance Victoria (AV) and work with talented professionals to improve the health of our community by delivering innovative, high quality ambulance services in order to achieve Best Care for every patient, every time.  AV is currently seeking an experienced Project Coordinator with Business Improvement experience for our Property Services Department located at our Blackburn North office.

About the role

This 0.5 part-time, fixed term contract to May 2021, is responsible for ensuring project objectives are met by providing project coordination services to key Business Improvement projects within the Property Services Department of AV.  The improvement initiatives implemented will enable the Property Services Department to better meet customer needs.  Reporting to the Business Improvement Manager, the key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Business Improvement team by undertaking improvement project planning, developing project documentation and supporting team based problem solving.
  • Coordinating improvement projects using relevant project methodology and supporting agreed process improvement initiatives to deliver measurable outcome improvements
  • Undertaking research and analysis and making recommendations ensuring alignment to the AV Project Management Methodology
  • Working collaboratively with the Business Improvement team  and broader Property Services Department to achieve divisional and organisational goals

About you

To be considered for this role, you will be a self-starter and possess a genuine interest in process improvement.  You will have relevant qualifications and/or training in project planning or delivery, including strong skills in utilising the Microsoft Office suite, and ideally Visio or similar, and exposure to training in LEAN or Six Sigma methods, is desirable.   Past application of  improvement methods, preferably in a health-related or similar setting would be beneficial.

Your significant project coordination skills, and experience working in a public sector agency will suit your logical thinking.  You will be known for your strong written, verbal, interpersonal and influencing skills, coupled with solid organisational skills and the ability to identify risks and problem solve.   High attention to detail and having a solid understanding of systems thinking and data analytics related to improvement and innovation will ensure success in this role. 

The annual salary for this position is $93,857 - $104,284 Pro-rata+ 9.5% super.

The successful candidate must have a current Victorian Driver's Licence, be willing to travel throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria when required, and undertake a National Police Check.
