Position Details

PROJECT MANAGER MAJOR PROJECT OFFICE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager with a service excellence ethos to join the Transformation and Strategy division at Ambulance Victoria (AV).   This is a full-time, fixed term contract until 30 June 2020 based at AV's Doncaster headquarters. 

Reporting to the Program Manager, Major Projects Office (MPO). The position will be responsible for the end to end management of Transformation and Strategy projects. This role will also be responsible for ensuring time, budget, compliance and quality objectives are met.  

About the role

It is envisaged that the Project Manager will analyse data, interpret results, prepare reports and manage the implementation of recommended changes, in line with AV's Project Management Framework, including associated processes and templates. This role manages and oversees all aspects of the project relating to business engagement, operational change, technical build, test and implementation and vendor management/integration.

The position includes management of the following key activities: 

•             Identify project risks and develop contingency plans in line with the AV Risk Management Framework and AV Project Management Framework

•             Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project, including contractor oversight, account management and timely reporting

•             Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management policies, procedures, systems and templates within the AV Enterprise Portfolio Management Office.

•             Lead and manage project staff to ensure project deliverables are achieved and to drive superior business outcomes 

About you  

To be considered for this position you will have a demonstrated experience in program/project management methodologies and appropriate certification (preferably PRINCE 2, Waterfall and Agile), success in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and preferably experience and familiarity of project management within a government environment. Conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure is valuable.
