About Us:

Corrections Victoria is responsible for the direction, management and operation of Victoria's prison system and Post Sentence Scheme. As a service agency within the Department of Justice & Community Safety (DJCS), Corrections Victoria develops and implements policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.

About the Role:

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is looking for a reliable and organised individual to join Loddon Prison & Middleton Prison Services Team and supporting Tarrengower Prison at Maldon.

The Justice Officer - Stores is responsible for maintaining stock levels, managing deliveries, serving prisoners in the shop, and providing general warehouse support within the prison environment. Along with forklift operations, purchasing, procurement, stock and inventory control.

This position requires direct prisoner contact and supervision and may involve weekend and public holiday work, in accordance with the applicable provision of the VPS Enterprise Agreement 2024.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operating and maintaining prison warehouse and canteen services
  • Ordering, receiving, and storing stock items
  • Stock control, forklift operation, and inventory management

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate a customer service focus, computer literacy, and a willingness to learn policies and procedures.

About You:

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Well-developed computer literacy.
  • Sound knowledge of and application of legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations.
  • Experience with Oracle or similar finance related system.
  • An understanding of shop, store and warehousing operations including associated stock management.
