Department policy stipulates that salary upon commencement is paid at the base of the salary range for the relevant grade. Any above base requests require sign off by an executive delegate and will be by exception only or where required to match the current salary of Victorian Public Service staff transferring at level.

Position Details

Corrections Victoria is responsible for the direction, management and operation of Victoria's corrections system, which incorporates prisons and Community Correctional Services (CCS).  

As a service agency within the Department of Justice, Corrections Victoria develops and implements policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour. The Workforce Planning and Development Branch is part of the Operations Division of Corrections Victoria. 

The Sentence Management Branch, part of the Offender Management Division, and is responsible for identifying prisoners' needs and matching them to correctional resources with the objective of placing and managing prisoners appropriately. 

The Assistant Manager is responsible for vacancy management, placement and classification of prisoners (male and female) across both public and private prisons in Victoria. 

As our ideal candidate you will have knowledge of correctional policies, organisation, procedures and relevant legislation and regulations.
