Position Details

Ambulance Victoria (AV) is eager to welcome applications for the fixed term, full time position of Improvement and Innovation Project Advisor within the newly created Quality and Patient Experience division.  Leading and conducting targeted end-to-end improvement initiatives aimed at improving patient safety and governance, this role essentially supports AV in its mission to deliver outstanding emergency health care every time.

About the role

Reporting to the Director, Clinical Governance and Performance, the main duties of the role include (but are not limited to):

• supporting targeted initiatives aimed at improving quality of care, patient safety and experience;

• coordinating process improvements in conjunction with the Service Quality and Improvements team;

• coordinating, leading and supporting agreed process improvement initiatives utilising recognised improvement methodologies;

• managing the implementation and evaluation of improvement initiatives;

• participating and liaising with Better Care Victoria in forums, networking events and meetings; and

• designing and delivering tools and resources to assist and coach employees in the implementation of process improvement outcomes.

About you

The successful candidate will be experienced in improvement science methodologies and will possess qualifications in either LEAN Thinking or Six Sigma.  With demonstrated project management experience, applicants should be excellent communicators with the ability to positively engage and coach employees through the implementation of process improvement initiatives. 

You will be able to apply your in depth knowledge of improvement science for complex and diverse initiatives, preferably in health-related environments and your well-developed conceptual and analytical skills will be put to good use.  Finally, developing and sustaining strong working relationships and networks with key internal and external stakeholders should come naturally to you.
