About us

The Hume Region delivers a range of services through Justice Service Centres at Wangaratta, Shepparton and Wodonga and at outreach locations in Myrtleford, Benalla, Cobram, Seymour, Mansfield and Corryong. The region also has two prisons, the minimum security Beechworth Correctional Centre and H.M. Prison Dhurringile.

About the role

The Justice Officer - Payroll and Rostering is responsible for the coordination of staff to ensure minimum staffing levels are met on a daily basis. The role will contribute to the delivery of personnel and payroll services to Hume Region Prisons (HRP) by preparation, maintenance and dissemination of the roster on a fortnightly basis.

In this role, you will maintain personnel and payroll records and provide statistical information on staff costing, sick leave, overtime and other relevant areas, as well as providing support to other Corporate Service areas.

Please note this position may require direct prisoner contact and may involve weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the VPS Determination.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • well-developed computer literacy
  • sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations.
  • demonstrated payroll experience in the use of a Human Resources Information System (preferably CHRIS21).

A qualification in Payroll Administration and/or commensurate experience would be highly regarded.
