Located in Lara, a short drive from Geelong and Melbourne's western suburbs, Marngoneet Correctional Centre is a medium-security facility for male prisoners which offers a variety of rehabilitation programs designed to reduce offenders' chances of re-offending.
About the role
As the Senior Industry Officer, you will play a significant and important role in training and assessing prisoners in relevant accredited trade skills units according to the specific work environment. This involves liaison with internal staff and external stakeholders to make informed contributions to the development and delivery of programs and processes. This will also include daily computer data input as part of monitoring, recording and managing industry production processes.
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- demonstrated maturity, sound judgement and confidence in decision making, with capabilities to coach, mentor and motivate prisoners to achieve training program and industry production outcomes in a multidisciplinary team and rehabilitative environment
- a proven ability to work as part of a team to monitor and achieve targets in a complex trade or industrial environment, including management of financial budgets, materials and suppliers' records and accounts, while maintaining work production schedules
- excellent problem solving and stakeholder management skills.
