Position Details

The Senior Claims Specialist is responsible for the management, co-ordination, and settlement of claims within the DBI claims portfolio by providing 'end-to-end' claims service to actively manage all aspects of the claims process.

What we are looking for

  • Proven record of successful administration and management of insurance claims, ideally within the Builders Warranty Insurance or similar scheme (eg Property Claims), or proven experience in providing legal advice to companies involved in the construction, property or strata management sectors.
  • Extensive experience in developing claim strategies and attending VCAT conferences.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and insurance or construction industry acumen.

About the BPC

The Building & Plumbing Commission (BPC) is Victoria's new regulator for building and plumbing.

It brings together the Victorian Building Authority (VBA), Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV), and the domestic building insurance function of the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) into one organisation.

Key functions related to building and plumbing regulation will come together under one roof, including registration, inspection and compliance, practitioner discipline, dispute resolution, and domestic building insurance. These services will now part of the BPC and will be fully integrated over the next 12 months.
