Position overview

We currently have 2 exciting permanent opportunities that will suit a seasoned plumbers to join one of 2 streams within our Inspectorate team.

The Senior Inspector, Plumbing is responsible for undertaking inspections and audits to drive and ensure suitable levels of practitioner compliance with relevant building legislation, codes and Australian Standards, and the monitoring and enforcement of industry and practitioner performance in meeting compliance obligations.

The Senior Inspector, Plumbing is responsible for providing expert technical plumbing advice and support to a range of internal and external stakeholders, making recommendations and assessing non-compliances to determine a resolution.

The role will function as the senior peer for the unit, mentor and coach other team members, providing development and shadowing opportunities to support the cross-skilling of the team members that are part of each small response unit.

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage, lead and develop teams of field-based Plumbing Inspectors to performing audit and inspections.
  • Experience of the plumbing industry and an advanced knowledge of the Building and Plumbing Regulations 2018, regulatory frameworks, codes, regulation standards and Government.
  • Extensive experience in conducting site inspections and audits with a comprehensive understanding regulatory delivery principles and practices as they relate to all classes of commercial and domestic buildings.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information, understand requirements and negotiate strategic outcomes to address issues. 
  • Highly developed conceptual and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically, research and analyse information.
