ABOUT THE POSITION:
This position exists to support the daily operations of the Melbourne Museum and Scienceworks car parks. The role is primarily accountable for delivering high-level customer service, performing administrative duties, supporting on-the-job staff training, and ensuring proper asset maintenance. The position plays a key role in maintaining smooth, efficient, and customer-focused operations across both sites.
Some of the key duties include:
- Deliver high-level customer service, responding to enquiries, assisting parkers, and handling complaints.
- Perform administrative tasks such as processing applications, invoices, and pass activations.
- Monitor and manage cash handling procedures, including reconciliation and reporting.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and maintenance of parking equipment.
- Perform regular patrols to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with OH&S standards.
- Supervise contractors and ensure adherence to safety and risk management protocols.
- Support staff and contractor training on equipment and operational procedures.
- Carry out daily operational tasks to ensure smooth functioning of the car park.
- Adhere to all organisational policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
The successful applicant will have:
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Proven experience in administration, including cash handling and reconciliation
- The ability to work independently and show initiative
- Previous experience in a car park or similar operational environment
- Basic computer proficiency
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience overseeing contractors or third-party services
- Willingness to undergo and pass a National Police Records Check (at own cost)
OTHER INFORMATION
This role is a Casual position. The salary on offer is $38.01 per hour (including casual loading).
