Department policy stipulates that salary upon commencement is paid at the base of the salary range for the relevant grade. Any above base requests require sign off by an executive delegate and will be by exception only or where required to match the current salary of Victorian Public Service staff transferring at level.

About us

The Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP) is a maximum-security facility providing state-wide assessment and orientation services for all male prisoners received into the prison system and is located within the North West Metropolitan Area.

About the Role

The Melbourne Assessment Prison is looking for a motivated, flexible and detail focussed person who enjoys working in a dynamic environment. You will join a Property Team on a fixed term basis as a Justice Officer to cover a Maternity leave position.

The Justice Officer- Property, will be responsible for:

  • the provision of high quality services pertaining to prisoner property and visitor enquires at the prison
  • data entry and maintaining accurate documentation.

Please note: This position will require direct prisoner contact

The role will involve weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the VPS Determination.

About you

The successful applicant will possess strong computer, organisational and time management skills as well as having a commitment to service excellence and a great ability to work in a fast paced environment.
