Position Details

About Us

The Dame Phyllis Frost Centre is a 560 bed medium to maximum security facility for female offenders located within the North West Metropolitan Area, Department of Justice and Community Safety.

About the role

As the Records and Property Team Leader, you will coordinate the reception and discharge functions of the prison, including prisoner property and clothing, preparing documentation for prisoners and working with all members of the prison to ensure the safety and security of prisoners, staff and visitors.

In the role, you will:

  • coordinate and operate the reception and discharge functions of the prison
  • undertake regular audits of operations in the Records and Property team to ensure compliance with practices and procedures
  • oversee accurate investigations of prisoner property claims within a timely manner, managing more complex claims as they arise

Please note that this position may require to work weekends and public holidays.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • computer skills with the ability to effectively use organisational systems to maintain information on relevant databases
  • sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations
  • experience in or understanding of working and managing staff within a correctional environment
  • experience in people management with the ability to lead a small team to deliver organisational objectives.
