About the branch

The Regional Victoria Division is responsible for the service delivery of initiatives, programs and services. On-ground works and services will conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management. The Regional resources will support environmental, social and economic outcomes for rural, regional and urban communities. Service delivery is managed and delivered within the demands of the Divisional Action Plan and the requirements of the Division's State-wide fire and emergency role and in partnership with community and government agencies.

Each region consists of a diverse range of parks and reserves. Staff working within the Region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, stakeholder management, park planning and emergency response.

About the role and your responsibilities: 

As the Field Services Officer you will deliver commercial operations and park services as directed by the Manager to enable efficient and effective delivery at a district level in accordance with the Regional Action Plan. You will work as a key member of the Cape Conran commercial accommodation and camping operations team in delivering high level customer, on-ground commercial and tourism focused services.

In this role you will be accountable for the delivery of on the ground works including, but not limited to, maintenance of assets, infrastructure, and facilities; customer service and the field delivery of environmental projects. Subject to delivery of essential commercial services, you will undertake Fire and Emergency response activities in accordance with requirements and level of training. The Field Service Officer will also be accountable for personal performance and demonstrate a strong personal work ethic. You will actively participate in a team environment and ensure that the overall success of the team is considered to be an outcome of individual success, as well as be adaptable and flexible to on the ground service requirements in order to ensure superior park management services are achieved at all times.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Natural Resource Management and/or equivalent experience in a similar field is desirable.
  • Demonstrated practical skills in the maintenance and operation of machinery, small equipment and tools.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of pest plant and animal control measures.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
