About the organisation

As the environmental regulator, EPA Victoria works on behalf of all Victorians to protect the health and wellbeing of Victoria's communities and environment from the harmful effects of pollution and waste. We're an independent statutory authority, established in 1971 and have undergone the biggest transformation in our history with the Environment Protection Act 2017 coming into effect on 1 July 2021. The new Act requires us to change our approach to become a world class regulator, using new powers and tools to prevents risk to the environment and human health.

About the role

Reporting to the Manager, Preventative Projects, the Preventative Project Lead leads and manages a small team responsible for partnering across the organisation teams to deliver temporal projects across the state. You will design, commission, manage and oversee the delivery of projects aligned to EPA's strategic priorities to prevent harm to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste.

This is a senior role for an experienced project manager and people leader that wants to contribute to the success of the EPA as it enters a new era of environmental protection in Victoria. You lead and manage a team through change to ensure a positive organisational culture and ensure the highest standards of performance and integrity are achieved; and foster genuine partnerships   across   all   levels of government, industry, and community to deliver organisational outcomes.

About you

With a strong background in project management, you have a proven record in unpacking the behavioural element of complex problems and using theory of change to design outcomes-based interventions to drive positive change. You are experienced in stakeholder management, facilitation and can translate complex or large volumes of information into clear and succinct written or verbal communications. Known for your ability to inspire high performance and integrity, you are an effective team member and foster genuine partnerships across all levels of government, industry, and community. As a senior member of a multidisciplinary team, you empower people to ensure accountability and deliver during periods of change.
