Position Details

A unique institution at the heart of Melbourne's iconic meeting place, Federation Square, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) is Australia's national museum of film, TV, videogames, digital culture and art. Welcoming over 1.45m visitors in 2015/16, ACMI is the most visited museum of the moving image in the world and the third most visited museum in Australia.

We have an exciting role within our Governance Team for an experienced and pro-active Legal & Governance Advisor to join ACMI in this pivotal supporting role ensuring the effective governance of ACMI, and supporting the delivery of the ACMI renewal project.

The role is responsible for providing robust and proactive legal and governance advice to ensure ACMI's compliance with legislation and regulations. It is also responsible for the preparation and review of contracts, providing advice on copyright, film classification and governance matters, and provision of operational and administrative Board Secretariat functions.

 

To be a successful contributor in this role you must be legally qualified and able to work collaboratively with a range of colleagues across the organisation and be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, diplomatic, communication and influencing skills. You are likely to have gained your experience in a similar organisation, and have the ability to work to tight deadlines in a high pressure but fun environment.
