Department policy stipulates that salary upon commencement is paid at the base of the salary range for the relevant grade. About us

Located in Ravenhall in Melbourne's western suburbs, the Metropolitan Remand Centre (MRC) is a 1,006 bed maximum-security facility for unsentenced male offenders. 

About the role

Situated within the Offender Services Team, as the Assessment and Transition Coordinator, you will:

  • support the delivery of Corrections Victoria's reintegration program at MRC
  • undertake prisoner risk and needs assessment and contribute to the Case Management Committee Review process
  • liaise and consult with contract providers on pre- and post-release services.

About you

As the successful candidate, you will have a demonstrated understanding of transition and reintegration issues and needs of prisoners, as well as an ability to administer risk assessment tools. Strong stakeholder management, verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

A tertiary qualification in an appropriate discipline is highly desirable. Demonstrated skills and experience in human services, welfare practice, education or related fields would be highly regarded.
