Position Details
THE ROLE
The Senior Project Manager will work in a collaborative and innovative team focused on delivering the Government's agenda of increasing access to affordable housing for Victorians. The role requires a dynamic and flexible candidate with experience end to end on large scale construction projects including housing. The role will also require extensive experience in project management, design, procurement, completions management and contract administration. The Senior Project Manager will provide authoritative advice and build strong stakeholder relationships to deliver key project outcomes. This role will directly support Government's Ground Lease Model Project – South Yarra, Prahran, Hampton East and Port Melbourne, an innovative public private partnership to deliver new social, affordable and market rental housing across Melbourne.
Are you:
- Experienced in coordinating and capturing outcomes and supporting the delivery of large scale, fast-paced social infrastructure projects?
- Able to manage and oversee the full lifecycle of projects (including feasibility, construction and design management, on-site construction delivery processes, government procurement processes and contract administration) with a focus of identifying risks and establishing risk mitigation processes?
- A dynamic team-player with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, comfortable in an on-site construction environment, and committed to delivering outcomes under tight timeframes?
- Proficient in core project management competencies including cost management, programme preparation and tracking, quality and risk management, reporting and compliance management?
- Experienced in supporting the delivery of large scale, fast- tracked projects and closely tracking project programmes and completions & handover activities?
- Interested in working as part of a team to develop and implement approaches to delivery of high-profile government initiatives?
- A dynamic team-player with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, committed to delivering outcomes under tight timeframes?
- A proven project manager with advanced interpersonal, written communication, consultation and negotiation skills?
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Support the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives including project development and delivery, monitoring and evaluation. The role will have a particular focus on the delivery and readiness for operations phase including compliance with Partnerships Victoria and High Value High Risk framework guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of reports, programme analysis, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions.
- Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
