  • Cog Grade 3: $97,563 - $105,427 plus superannuation.

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Emergency Management Coordinator to provide a critical role within the Security and Intelligence Division.

About the Business Unit

The Security and Intelligence Division sits within Corrections Victoria in the Department of Justice & Community Safety. The Security and Intelligence Division is responsible for the acquittal of a number of key strategic functions including security risk management, electronic monitoring, emergency response, emergency management including exercising plans and contingencies, and Intelligence.

To deliver its responsibilities, the Security and Intelligence Division is divided into four business units, Corrections Victoria Intelligence unit, Security Standards Unit, Electronic monitoring & Security & Emergency Services Group (SESG).

The Emergency Management Unit that sits within the SESG is responsible for ensuring EM capability within Corrections. The unit also performs a number of compliance functions and is responsible for leading the development of Corrections Victoria's emergency management capability.

About the Role

The Emergency Management Coordinator is a specialist position that works across the correctional and youth justice systems, coordinating emergency management functions.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Assist with the ongoing development and implementation of a comprehensive emergency management process. 
  • Deliver the Field Commander training package across Corrections Victoria Prisons and Youth Justice. 
  • Deliver the Management System for Emergencies training and awareness package across Corrections Victoria Prisons and Youth Justice.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Knowledge and understanding of DJCS and Corrections Victoria EM operations, policies and procedures 
  • Ability to work to strict timelines both independently and as a member of the team 
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering training 

Qualifications

  • Formal qualifications in emergency management would be well regarded. 
  • A current Victorian Driver's licence is required.
