Manager, Governance, Compliance and Business Support
The Social Services Regulator is a statutory authority that was established under the Social Services Regulations Act 2021 (the Act). The Act gives effect to a comprehensive new regulatory scheme that aims to keep Victoria’s social service users safe from harms such as abuse and neglect.
The purpose of the scheme is to:
- support the safe delivery of social services
- embed a new set of Social Service standards for all service providers
- ensure service providers understand their role in protecting the rights of social service users
- define roles and responsibilities of service providers
- give the Regulator monitoring and enforcement powers to respond to risks of harm
- improve information sharing between regulators so they can identify and respond to risks of harm

Position Details
THE ROLE
The Manager, Governance, Compliance and Business Support leads the development and operation of governance, compliance and business support frameworks that enable the Social Services Regulator (SSR) to operate effectively, with integrity, and in line with relevant legislation and compliance obligations. The role manages a team that is responsible for coordinating a range of internal and external governance bodies and committees; developing and monitoring compliance frameworks for risk management, privacy, information and records management, integrity and conflict of interest; and maintaining the SSR's delegation instruments.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Lead the development and maintenance of governance frameworks, policies and processes that support sound decision-making, accountability and transparency.
- Oversee organisational risk management frameworks, including the identification, assessment, mitigation and reporting of risk.
- Ensure effective compliance with legislative and policy requirements through monitoring, assurance activities and reporting.
- Partner with executives and leaders to provide trusted, practical advice on governance, risk and compliance matters, supporting informed decision-making and accountability.
