The Social Services Regulator is committed to strengthening protections and rights of vulnerable Victorians accessing social services.

The Social Services Regulator is a statutory authority that was established under the Social Services Regulations Act 2021 (the Act). The Act gives effect to a comprehensive new regulatory scheme that aims to keep Victoria’s social service users safe from harms such as abuse and neglect.

The purpose of the scheme is to:
- support the safe delivery of social services
- embed a new set of Social Service standards for all service providers
- ensure service providers understand their role in protecting the rights of social service users
- define roles and responsibilities of service providers
- give the Regulator monitoring and enforcement powers to respond to risks of harm
- improve information sharing between regulators so they can identify and respond to risks of harm

Position Details

THE ROLE

The Manager, Organisational Development leads the design and delivery of organisation-wide strategies and programs that build capability, strengthen culture and enable an engaged and high-performing workforce to deliver on the Social Services Regulator's vision and purpose.

Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, the role works with executive and people leaders to embed inclusive, adaptable and capable teams and ways of working, through effective strategic workforce and capability planning, learning and development, leadership development, talent and performance frameworks, culture, wellbeing and inclusion strategies. The role also works closely with change management and internal communications functions to ensure change is people-centred, well-planned, clearly communicated and effectively embedded.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

  • Draw from a range of contemporary models and organisational development (OD) practice to lead the development and delivery of organisation-wide strategies that build capability, strengthen culture and enable an engaged and high-performing workforce.
  • Work closely with executives and people leaders and use workforce data, feedback and diagnostics to provide expert advice, inform OD initiatives, evaluate impact and continuously improve organisational effectiveness.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a workforce and capability strategy to ensure the SSR has the right capability in the right roles at the right time to deliver on its mandate and that learning and development programs are aligned to current and future capability needs and organisational priorities.
