About the business unit 

The Justice Officer is a position in Corporate Governance and Support team with the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS), North West Metropolitan Area (NWMA).

The North West Metropolitan Area (NWMA) accounts for sites located in either the North or West of the Area and deliver a range of services including: custodial services at prisons, Community Correctional Services, Youth Justice Services, Sheriff's Operations, Consumer Affairs, front of house enquiries (including Births, Deaths and Marriages applications) and management of community services (including Victims' Support across the area).

About the role 

The Justice Officer is a position in Corrections and Justice Services within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS), North West Metropolitan Area (NWMA).

The position is based at the South Morang Office; however, it is an expectation of the role that the successful applicant is willing to support at other locations across the North Metro. A driver's license is therefore preferred but not essential.

The Justice Officer provides administration and client services, as required by the locations and the region. The role is part of a regional administration team, that provide a commitment to team building and the efficient delivery of administrative services across the region.

Some of your duties will include: 

  • Supporting the delivery of a range of programs 
  • Completing a range of administrative duties including data entry
  • Providing advice and support to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Well-developed computer literacy and administration skills
  • An understanding of the importance of maintaining accurate records of sensitive information and documents
  • The ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
