Position Details

Are you looking for a position that allows you to contribute to Ambulance Victoria (AV) strategic plans whilst applying your strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills and have demonstrated experience in similar roles across the public sector?  Then look no further!

AV is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Specialist Communications to develop and oversee the key operational communications and engagement strategy, to support delivery of all operational activities. This is a full time, fixed term position to November 2020, currently based in Doncaster.

About the role

Reporting to the Executive Advisor, Chief Operating Office the responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • Implementing Operations Internal Communication Strategy
  • Integrating internal and external stakeholder planning and engagement to help ensure delivery translates to real business outcomes
  • Working in close collaboration with the Communication and Stakeholder Engagement team
  • Providing strategic communications advice and support to all operational business areas
  • Measuring and reporting on the performance of communication initiatives and programs

About you

To be considered for this position you will possess a post graduate degree or equivalent level in a relevant discipline and demonstrate contemporary and extensive working knowledge of communication and engagement activities, considering change impacts and stakeholder engagement.

You will be known for your excellent interpersonal, collaboration and influencing skills, coupled with your engaging written, verbal and visual communication skills.  In addition, your strong attention to detail and agile approach will see you succeed in this fast paced environment.

The successful candidate must have a current Victorian Driver's License and be willing to travel throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria when required.

Successful applicants will need to complete a Police Check.

AV has introduced salary bands and this position is graded at AV6.  The salary range for an AV6 position is $140,820 to $161,670 pa plus 9.5% superannuation. The expectation is that employees will commence at the base of the grade applicable to a position.
