Position Details

Analytics Development Manager 

Ambulance Victoria's mission is to improve the health of our community by delivering innovative, high quality ambulance services and providing exceptional clinical care. The leading edge clinical practice and lifesaving work of Ambulance Victoria's (AV) paramedics and volunteers underpins this mission. 

The organisation has been undergoing a transformation, and an exciting new opportunity exists for an Analytics Development Managerto deliver a sustainable approach to corporate and operational performance improvement that will be embedded in the working practices of AV on an ongoing basis. The role is a permanent, fulltime, and based in our Doncaster office. 

About the role

The Analytics Development Manager is responsible for engaging with the business to develop new analytical initiatives and customer engagement strategies to meet the growing demand for reporting, analytics and planning services. The Analytics Development Manager will encourage and support data-led decision making by engaging closely with key business stakeholders, to understand and prioritise new initiatives and expose opportunities to deliver improved operational, clinical and corporate performance. 

In addition, the Analytics Development Manager will be responsible for the ongoing uplift of data literacy and analytical capability with across the organisation, at both Executive levels and across the broader AV analyst community.  The Analytics Development Manager will work as part of the management team of the Insights Centre to ensure continuous improvement and effective operation of the Insights Centre. 

About you

Successful candidate's attributes will reflect Ambulance Victoria's overarching commitment to the protection, safety and well-being of patients, staff and community.  To be considered for this role, you will hold a tertiary or post graduate qualification or any data related degree.  You are a robust people leader, with proven ability in leading an insular / passive environment with demonstrated experience in project and change management, including practice in delivering in agile environments. 

In addition, the successful candidate will process/demonstrable experience listed below: 

  • Strong ability to maintain close interpersonal relationships with Operations
  • Capability to understand the ICT interface, and translate technical into business ready language
  • A “path finder”, who has the ability to connect systems, patterns and people, with a keen desire to make people commit to decisions
  • Proven ability to convert intent into action
  • Effective ability to communicate in a way that inspires others to follow their lead
  • Ability to distil complex information (information that is technical, has multiple types of impacts or presents a tension/opposition between multiple parties) so that you can find the root cause and communicate clearly and simply with others to help solve the problem
  • Solid ability to influence others to help solve problems, especially when there are priority issues/resource availability issues 

The successful candidate must have a current Victorian Driver's Licence and undertake a National Police Check.
