Position Details
- Work in some of Victoria's most iconic alpine landscapes, including Mount Bogong, the Bogong High Plains and Alpine National Park.
- Gain hands-on experience across a diverse range of ranger activities including conservation programs, visitor management, asset maintenance, compliance and community engagement.

About the Role
As a Seasonal Ranger based in Mt Beauty, you will play a key role in delivering on-ground park management services across the Alpine National Park and surrounding reserves. You will contribute to a variety of programs including visitor facility maintenance, conservation works, asset and infrastructure management, visitor services, compliance activities and community engagement.
This is a unique opportunity to gain broad experience across all aspects of park management while working in one of Victoria's most spectacular natural environments. The role offers meaningful hands-on experience and the opportunity to develop valuable skills in land management, conservation and public land operations.
About the Team
The Mt Beauty Ranger Team is a dedicated and collaborative group responsible for managing some of Victoria's most significant alpine landscapes. We are a supportive, safety-focused team that values professionalism, continuous improvement and strong relationships with Traditional Owners, local communities, volunteers and visitors.
We work together to deliver outstanding visitor experiences while protecting the environmental and cultural values that make these parks special. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, develop your skills and work alongside experienced rangers in a rewarding outdoor environment.
We're Looking for Someone With
- Relevant qualifications or skills in conservation and land management, natural resource management, environmental science, outdoor recreation, community engagement, carpentry or a related field.
- Experience delivering on-ground services, projects or operational work as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with visitors and stakeholders.
- A commitment to safe work practices and risk management.
- Sound problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative when addressing operational issues.
- Experience working collaboratively within a team environment.
- A current Victorian Driver Licence.
