About the Division

Assets and Engineering enables a safe, resilient and fit-for-purpose Victorian transport system through whole of lifecycle decisions based on systematic and disciplined technical excellence.

About the opportunity

Responsible for providing sound technical and traffic engineering advice and analysis for the Department of Transport and MTIA in relation to changes to the road network, with a focus on performing microsimulation modelling. Under guidance, the Senior Engineer – Transport System Modelling will use creative problem solving and analysis to resolve complex transport issues and will assist in securing work via a fee-for-service model.

Key Accountabilities

  • Modelling Service Delivery – Provided sound technical professional services to key stakeholders and customers to agreed outcomes. Undertakes technical data analysis and modelling, preparing reports and providing advice to clients on various fee-for-service projects, applying a good knowledge of microsimulation software to address design and operational challenges.  In addition, model maintenance and application maybe be required for intersection and network analysis platforms held within the business unit.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Computer and Data Modelling – Engineering (Applied) - Applies specialised knowledge to ensure technical integrity, reporting, calculations, design reports and schematics meet organisational, industry and legislative requirements. Seeks senior specialist advice and support when required to ensure data integrity is maintained and accurate.
