About the Opportunity

The Senior Asset Assurance Officer, OCMS position sits within Rail Services and is responsible for providing the oversight and technical asset assurance of the ‘stewardship' and technical performance of the Operational Control & Management System (OCMS) assets. The role will provide support across the operations and maintenance phase of the asset life cycle, predominantly for OCMS assets in the rail environment, but will also assist with Infrastructure asset management activities as required. The role will participate in OCMS and infrastructure working groups, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure that the assets are managed appropriately and the State is getting value for money.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will demonstrate:

  • Assesses situations and identifies the best systems tools for analysing as well as applying system archetypes to identify common dynamics that appear in different situations.
  • Applies critical thinking and problem-solving concepts to analyse and resolves issues through deep understanding or interpretation of existing guidelines.
  • Guide's others in operating digital and technology tools relevant to area of work and understands the impact of internal IT landscape to daily operations
  • Understands associated costs of operations and seeks efficient ways of operating.
  • Understands motivations, needs and wants of stakeholders and their impact on service delivery and adapts communications style in according to audience and/or audience preference.



  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as engineering, technology, operations management or equivalent
  • Asset intensive industry experience such as Rail
