About the Team

The Rolling Stock Development Division falls under the Network Design and Integration Group which transforms network strategies and plans into deliverable transport solutions.

The Rolling Stock Development Division supports the delivery of new rolling stock, major refurbishments and upgrades, while supporting local jobs and industry.  The division provides advice on rolling stock, related infrastructure, and systems to ensure Victoria's fleets meet current and future requirements

The Industry Engagement team is part of the Industry Engagement and Capital Projects group. It supports all manner of transport related projects with a particular focus on rolling stock manufacture and maintenance.


About the Opportunity

The Local Content Compliance Officer will be responsible for identifying, advising upon and managing all aspects of local content compliance of Victoria's rolling stock fleet including the identification of systems that could be localised to increase Victoria's rail supply chain capabilities.

This role will work closely with the Industry Capability Network (ICN) to improve relevant processes to ensure delivery and compliance to local content requirements.


What we're looking for

  • Knowledge of the State's Local Content policies and procedures under the Local Jobs First Act 2003
  • Proven manufacturing industry focus including knowledge of the structure of the transport manufacturing sector in Victoria
  • Knowledge of Victorian Government programs for industry development generally and with a focus on manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge of the role and responsibilities of the ICN
  • Demonstrated ability to assist in the development and delivery of import replacement initiatives with OEMs and supply chain participants
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in the public sector
  • Experience in document management
  • Proficient ability to organise and run industry events including trade missions



  • Relevant tertiary degree
  • Extensive strategic engagement and communications with industry
  • Experience in scoping, preparing and delivering international trade missions, both inbound and outbound
  • Experience in a complex manufacturing sector
