About the Team

The Rolling Stock Development Division falls under the Network Design and Integration Group which transforms network strategies and plans into deliverable transport solutions.

The Rolling Stock Development Division supports the delivery of new rolling stock, major refurbishments and upgrades, while supporting local jobs and industry.  The division provides advice on rolling stock, related infrastructure, and systems to ensure Victoria's fleets meet current and future requirements

The Industry Engagement team is part of the Industry Engagement and Capital Projects group. It supports all manner of transport related projects with a particular focus on rolling stock manufacture and maintenance.


About the Opportunity

The Project Officer, Industry Engagement is responsible for providing support, including research and data, to assist in the development of the Victorian rolling stock industry and supply chain. This role will also assist in the design and execution of initiatives and processes for the development of the rolling stock industry.

The Project Officer will liaise on rolling stock projects with government agencies such as The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions, The Office of the Lead Scientist, Invest Victoria and Global Victoria and provide support to the Rail Industry Development Advisory Committee.


What we're looking for

  • Good interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and work productively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language; ensures appropriate style and formats are used
  • Knowledge of the public sector
  • Knowledge of the structure of the transport manufacturing sector in Victoria and nationally, with an understanding of industry development and engagement
  • Efficient document management which meets corporate document guidelines and assists effective industry engagement
  • Proficient ability to organise and run industry events including trade missions



  • Relevant tertiary degree
  • Experience in the public sector would be well regarded
  • Experience in scoping, preparing and delivering international trade missions, both inbound and outbound
