Position Details

Victoria's Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning ensures that the State has the right conditions to enable economic growth, while delivering liveable, inclusive and sustainable communities.  It brings together and leads planning, local government, infrastructure, environment, climate change and water functions to ensure that regional strategies are fully integrated and build community awareness and resilience.

As the Regional Director, Barwon Southwest you will lead a team that is skilled and empowered, building capability and strengthening locally based decision making and front line delivery to the community.  Representing DELWP, you will play a key role in achieving its objectives by integrating the department's, Government's and the region's initiatives.  The position is one where the issues ebb and flow, and where the range of stakeholders is effectively unlimited, providing regular meetings and exceptionally good opportunities to facilitate and develop relationships.

We wish to hear from you if you can bring executive leadership experience; excellent influencing, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills; a problem solving approach; and proven people and change management abilities.  A service delivery background in a large complex organisation would be ideal, and relevant tertiary qualifications expected.

Initial enquires can be made to Robin Billen and Kathryn Harper and a copy of the brief obtained by calling us on 03 9650 2555. Formal applications should be forwarded by 11.00pm, Sunday 25  February 2018 to
