Position Details

The Policy Officer will also support the Branch in the development and implementation of regulatory frameworks to manage Victoria's environmental assets. The role will work with internal and some external stakeholders to promote the awareness and consistent application of regulatory practice. The Policy Officer will deliver supporting projects detailed in the review Outcomes report, including compliance and enforcement, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder advisory group, and the review of the offset aimed at identifying any hurdles and further developing the offset market. They will also be responsible for preparing for, co-ordinating and responding to the planned Victorian Auditor General Audit scheduled for 2019/20.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of the environment, regulatory systems and government processes, have good written skills, be highly organised and have a close attention to detail. Understanding of the native vegetation clearing regulations and/or the planning system would be useful but is not essential.
