Position Details

The Department of Environment, Land Water and Planning (DELWP) brings together planning, local government and infrastructure, environment, climate change, energy and water functions, to ensure an integrated approach to the development of long-term State and regional strategies.  The Department's work covers a range of areas, from climate change policy to protection of endangered species, from urban planning to fire preparedness, water management, local government, renewable energy options and regional-based services. The organisation's promise is to put the community at the centre of all that it does.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this is a strategic leadership role overseeing the Architecture and Cyber Security function.  With your team you will lead the development of the ICT architecture strategy, road maps, and reference models that support the department's objectives. This includes providing solution architecture and architecture advisory services for key enterprise initiatives across DELWP. You will also lead the implementation of the cyber security strategy, and develop the organisational capability needed to support it.  You will foster strategic relationships across the whole department and with counterparts across Victorian government agencies. Representing the department at Whole of Government committees and forums, you will play a major role in building a robust culture of performance, delivery and continuous improvement across Information Services.

Your experience has seen you contribute to building a well-established IT environment based on best practice in architecture and cybersecurity.  You offer inspiring leadership, coaching and mentoring your team ensuring they are highly customer-centric and strategic in outlook. While being flexible and pragmatic, your capacity to articulate a vision and engender support will be well utilised in this role. Able to work highly autonomously and thriving on challenge, you will see this role as a real opportunity to effect change and delver vital services that support our State's wellbeing.
