Position Details

The Policy Officer will assist with work across the Water and Catchments Group, the Department of Environment Land, Water and Planning and other Victorian jurisdictions on matters related to Basin Plan implementation. Lead Water and Catchments Group's coordination of meetings papers and briefings for various intergovernmental committees (including the Ministerial Council and Basin Officials Committee). Effectively communicate , in writing and verbally, policy issues and processes solutions to stakeholders that consistent with the departments standards and guidelines.

A relevant qualification and/or experience in in engineering, science, natural resource management, or equivalent is desirable but not essential. Knowledge and understanding of government processes, in particular briefing, coordination and meeting processes, is desirable.

This is a fixed term – Flexible position until 30 June 2020
