About Us:
The Department of Justice and Community Safety provides compliance, enforcement, and regulatory services to the Victorian Community.
In a Justice Service Centre environment, a Justice Officer provides a combination of reception and concierge functions, and administrative and business support services. In the context of a prison, the Justice Officer provides a range of corporate support services (as specified), within the unique operational environment of a correctional facility. In either context, the role requires a strong focus on customer service, teamwork, integrity, accuracy, compliance and timeliness.
About the Role:
The Justice Officer is an entry-level position to a career in corporate services in the Department's eight Regions, through which the compliance, enforcement and regulatory services are provided to the Victorian community.
Some of your duties may include:
- Providing a combination of reception and concierge functions, and administrative and business support services.
- Under supervision, provide high quality services and perform all functions pertaining to prisoner records.
- Coordinating the preparation of documentation relating to a prisoner's transfer, classification, release or court appearances.
This position requires direct prisoner contact and involves weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the VPS Determination.
About You:
As an ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Well-developed computer literacy and administration skills.
- An understanding of the importance of maintaining accurate records of sensitive information and documents.
- The ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
