Working in a dynamic environment, the Senior Policy Officer will lead a number of work streams to develop and recommend policy options, prepare advice on required legislative changes, assist with drafting and making legislation and prepare briefings and correspondence for Ministers and executives. To do so, the Senior Policy Officer will influence and negotiate across a wide range of government, industry and consumer stakeholders to gain agreement to proposals and ideas to achieve effective policy and regulatory outcomes. You will Maintain an active awareness of international and national issues related to cladding, so as to develop policy to effectively implement recommendations and Work flexibly and collaboratively across the business to deliver business unit, group and DELWP priorities and initiatives as required.

A tertiary qualification in law, public policy, economics or a related discipline is highly desirable and experience in the development and amendment of legislation and/or regulations in a State or Commonwealth public service setting is highly desirable.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2019
