Position Details

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) is tasked with ensuring Victoria has the right conditions to enable economic growth, while delivering liveable, inclusive and sustainable communities.

We bring together planning, local government and infrastructure, environment, climate change, energy and water functions, to ensure an integrated approach to the development of long-term State and regional strategies that build on social, environmental and economic opportunities to provide for future population growth and change.

The Director, Planning Information Services will play a significant role in leading and shaping all business technology, information services and systems, including spatial systems and services in the Department's Planning group.  Working closely with the executive leadership team, the appointee will be responsible for driving a culture of performance, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and ensuring quality outcomes while promoting a customer service ethos. The Director will manage and lead significant business applications that will directly benefit the Victorian planning system.

You have demonstrated capacity to lead and manage significant IT projects and ongoing support services with experience and understanding of the Agile methodology.  You have a deep understanding of project management and information management. You are experienced in the development and support of information systems, managing complex technical matters concerning CRM, business intelligence and geospatial applications. Your strong focus on customer service excellent underpins your success in building and managing high performing teams. Highly collaborative and energetic you are adept at influencing and managing a range of stakeholders. Critical and strategic you are not afraid to challenge the state. You relish the opportunity to drive innovation in an environment undergoing significant transformation.
