The Senior Project Officer will undertake feasibility research and technical evaluation of renewable energy and new energy technologies to identify and develop investment opportunities for Victoria's energy sector.

This includes providing advice relating to transitioning or integrating new opportunities into Victoria's mix of energy products and services.  This will include leading the business case development and cost benefit analysis to support funding bids.

Initiatives and frameworks, developed as part of the business case will capture, in practical terms, the conceptual and analytical thinking underpinning the investment opportunity and ensure strategic alignment to the Victorian strategic energy objectives in the medium and longer term.

The Senior Project Officer will prepare cabinet submissions and ministerial briefs designed to attract and secure future funding for investment opportunities, short to medium term opportunities exist in community power projects and the expansion of existing programs.

This role will also be required to represent the Department in senior internal and external forums and to build and maintain formal and informal stakeholder networks.

This is a fixed term position for a period of 3 years.
