The Senior Project Officer will report to the Regional Manager, Natural Environment Programs and lead DELWPs regional input into a review of environmental approvals to support the delivery of a state-wide strategy to manage rural drainage. The development of a state-wide strategy for rural drainage through an open and consultative process is a key commitment in the Governments Water Plan, Water for Victoria.

The position requires the documentation of existing processes, barriers and opportunities, ensuring alignment of the new native vegetation regulations, development of new support materials (including an application kit), as well as the roll out of a capability program to support the streamlined approvals process. Knowledge and experience in project or program deliver with an emphasis on relevant water legislation, policies, programs and implementation and detailed understanding of environmental and cultural approvals processes in Victoria.

This is a fixed term – Flexible position for a period of 12 months
