Position Details

We are building an inclusive workplace to help realise the potential of our employees, embrace our differences, and apply our diverse thinking to innovation and delivering services to Victorian communities. All jobs can be worked flexibly and we encourage job applications from Aboriginal people, people with disabilities, young people and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.

At the Department of Environment Land, Water and Planning (DELWP), the Project Officer – Procurement and Contracts supports the Logistics team which is responsible for the movement of goods and equipment in any land management and emergency responses in the state of Victoria.

The role contributes to the delivery of high-quality logistics and supply chain management services by providing services related to procurement, tender documentation, contract works and contract practices.  Additionally, the role provides specialist preparation and administration of contracts including the monitoring of supplier performance, in order to limit the risk for DELWP, its staff and the community.

Whilst in the role, the successful candidate will ensure they meet all legislative, policy and procedural requirements. You will be adept at identifying emerging complex or highly sensitive issues, risks and trends impacting on the successful achievement of your objectives and priorities.

Your work style naturally lends itself to contributing to an inclusive and team-oriented workplace culture that is busy and fun. You are focussed, collaborative, professional and engaged in your work and the Procurement industry. You can juggle a variety of tasks at any one time and you want to be a part of a high performing team that you have contributed to.

All that you do will be underpinned by your exceptional ability to be highly organised because you are a self-starter – you are able to work autonomously to fulfil the requirements of the role.

This role will suit a person who comes to work, rolls up their sleeves and is happy to respond to the work that comes in on their desk and adaptable to the team's needs.  No two days are the same. We won't shy away from saying we need hard working, flexible colleagues who can roll with the ebb and flow of the workload and have volumes of emotional intelligence as you apply your specialist knowledge in supporting the state of Victoria and Victorians.

This is an ongoing position.

To be considered for this position, your application should include a supporting statement demonstrating that you meet the key selection criteria and any job requirements specified in the position description.

Applications close at midnight, Tuesday 19 February 2019.
