Position Details

Lead a field based works crew to ensure program objectives are met, and that tasks are carried out in a safe, efficient and effective manner. You will be responsible for undertaking construction and maintenance work including the operation of equipment as licensed. This role will require you to assist in the collection and analysis of field data in support of operational activities. The successful applicant will possess the following;

  • A Diploma of Conservation and Natural Resources or similar qualification or substantial experience in natural resource management is desirable.
  • Core Operational Fireline Firefighter skills:  Hold and maintain accreditation in two core operational Fireline Firefighter skills, with at least one of the following:
  • Operations Officer Level 1, Chainsaw operator - Faller(Advanced), and/ or Plant operator- dozer (D4 & D6) or Tanker Driver.
  • Ability to achieve accreditation and maintain competencies in chemical use (ACUP), Forklift Operator, Front End Loader Operator, Heavy Truck or Articulated Truck Driver.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 11 months - flexible.
