The successful candidate will effectively manage the coordination and delivery of the annual works programs associated with forest and fire management, with an emphasis on planned burning. In collaboration with the District Management Team set and deliver operational priorities across multiple work centres within the district. Develop and maintain strong partnerships and relationships with Parks Victoria, Local government and other key stakeholders, to deliver integrated program outcomes. Ensure that the implementation of projects complies with legislation, codes of practice, approved plans and Departmental guidelines and standards.

This position requires a person with demonstrated leadership, project management and problem solving skills and have experience in operational delivery of works programs relating to fire management and land stewardship, management of field staff and contractors, community engagement and OH&S. The person best suited to this role will be a self-starter who is comfortable operating in an autonomous and responsible role managing resources and people. An approved degree diploma in a field of Natural Resource Management or an equivalent qualification or substantial experience in natural resource management is desirable.

This is a fixed term position until 30 September 2019.
