The Geographic Information System (GIS) Officer provides GIS services for forest and fire management planning services in the Forest and Fire Operations Branch. Working with the other regional and state teams the GIS Officer will confirm the consistent, integrated and efficient delivery of forest and GIS services across the Forest, Fire and Regions Group (FFRG). You will also ensure departmental and group requirements are met in accordance with legislative, policy and procedural requirements.

As an active member of the Regional Forest and Fire Operations Branch team, you will contribute to the delivery of group and departmental priorities, and to building an inclusive and high performing workforce that is customer focussed, collaborative, professional and engaged.

The successful applicant will have qualifications and well-established experience with geographic information systems software; skills with ArcGIS, python scripting and web mapping systems are preferred, with a willingness to learn new technical skills. Overall, we are seeking a candidate with a high level of expertise working with computers.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 12 months.
