The Kangaroo Pet Food Trial Officer will contribute to the implementation of the Kangaroo Pet Food Trial (KPFT) in the Glenelg and Southern Grampians local government areas. The KPFT commenced in March 2014, allowing kangaroo meat resulting from authorised wildlife control activities to be processed for pet food. The trial has now been extended until 31 March 2018 and will continue to operate in select local government areas in North-East and Western Victoria. This role will contribute to the design of the program and supporting documents, including communications and media products.

This project support role is responsible for assessing ‘authority to control wildlife' applications, monitoring and collection of evaluation data and administrative tasks associated with the trial.  The position will provide advice to a wide variety of stakeholders, including local government, other government agencies, industry, community groups and private landholders. An appropriate qualification in science, natural resource management or equivalent

An understanding of the Wildlife Licencing System or similar database software.

This is a fixed term – flexible position available for a period until 30 June 2019. This role is suitable for a job-share arrangement.
