Position Details

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) brings together Victoria's planning, local government, environment, energy, suburban development, forests, emergency management, climate change and water functions into a single department to strengthen connections between the environment, community, industry and economy. It is tasked with ensuring that Victoria has the right conditions to enable economic growth, while delivering liveable, inclusive and sustainable communities.

This position is classified as an “identified position” aimed at increasing employment opportunities for Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People. The position requires an in-depth knowledge of Aboriginal culture and an ability to communicate with Aboriginal communities. Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply. 

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic person to build and co-ordinate effective partnerships and manage projects that deliver in the Grampians Region on the objectives and actions of Munganin Gadhaba, the department's Aboriginal Inclusion Plan. 

You will be able to demonstrate your influencing and engagement skills and your mature and strategic approach in working constructively with Aboriginal communities, other organisations and natural resource management agencies. You will also be a confident and skilled communicator and be able to provide expert advice and support to DELWP staff on best practice engagement with Victorian Aboriginal people.   

This diverse role includes identification and facilitation of new projects, partnership establishment and management with a range of stakeholders, working collaboratively with DELWP teams, and monitoring and reporting on regional implementation of Munganin Gadhaba. You will also promote the department's activities and respond to the needs of Aboriginal communities and relevant stakeholders in the region including working toward Aboriginal employment outcomes.    

This is an ongoing, flexible position.

The department offers a wide range of flexible arrangements to enable you to balance your work with other commitments and activities. The work location is negotiable within the Grampians region.
