Position purpose

The Senior Planning & Approvals Program Officer (Statutory Planning) is to deliver and oversee statutory planning responses and advice for the Grampians region of DELWP and maintain associated records.

Accountabilities

  • Provide consistent, integrated and efficient delivery of statutory planning responses for the Grampians region of DELWP.
  • Maintain records relating to statutory planning and other land planning matters.
  • Provide expert advice to the Program Manager and other managers and staff on Statutory Planning.
  • Identify emerging issues, risks and trends impacting on the successful achievement of objectives and priorities and develop solutions and options.
  • As an active member of the Land and Built Environment team, contribute to the delivery of group and departmental priorities, and to building an inclusive and high performing workforce that is customer focussed, collaborative, professional and engaged.
  • Contribute to environmental planning priority tasks as requested. 

Specialist/Technical Expertise

A degree in planning or environmental science is desirable. 

Experience in the delivery of statutory planning responses related to the environment would be highly regarded.

Knowledge and understanding of DELWP policies and procedures related to the natural environment and public land management would also be highly regarded.
